SRH Serbia is committed to gender equality, and to eliminating the stigma and discrimination which threatens individual well-being and leads to the widespread violation of health and human rights, particularly among young people.
We were implemented following programs:
1. Prevention of HIV/AIDS among young Roma
2. Prevention of HIV/AIDS among MSM population (field outreach)
3. Drop In center for MSM in Niš
The Association has been running its program in south of Serbia, Niš for the past eight years, providing reproductive health and social services through its Drop In Centre and outreach work. It had a dedicated team of experienced professionals who manage the Centre’s program and outreach activities, including peer support, online and telephone assistance. It also maintained a good relationship with health institutions in Niš, ensuring high standards in providing health related services. This work has served as basis for developing advocacy activities, at local level – providing gender-sensitive inputs for the Strategy for Social Policy of the city of Niš
The Association has been running outreach and drop-in activities for LGBT population and outreach activities for Roma population living in settlements for the past six years, working through a team of trained and experienced professionals who manage the Drop-In Centre’s program and outreach activities, including peer support, online and telephone assistance, as well as a network of volunteers from the populations covering the cities of Niš, Pirot and Bujanovac. The SRH Serbia staff and volunteers in the field have been supporting the project as needed – in implementing focus group meetings and in-depth interviews in the designated cities, in distributing the IEC material throughout the target population etc.
