ICPD Beyond 2014 and post-2015 framework
As part of the international environment SRH Serbia is committed to the aligning of national legislation with international documents has ratified by our country. SRH Serbia is committed to implementing the goals of the ICPD POA (International Conference of population development Programme of Action), as the most important global initiative to improve the quality of human life. The International Conference on Population and Development Programme of Action (ICPD PoA) put human rights and individual well-being at the centre of development. We welcome the outcomes of the ICPD Beyond 2014 review process, including at regional levels, as well as the extension of the ICPD PoA beyond 2014, and see its further implementation as central to achieving sustainable development and to ensuring the success of the post-2015 framework.
SRH Serbia aims at improving strategies at the national level and strengthening institutional and human resources in order to accelerate the achievement of the goals of the ICPD PoA and MDGs (Millennium Development Goals) and in this regard undertakes the following actions:
Reviewing and aligning the implementation of national strategies and plans, such as Strategy for Reproductive Health, increasing access to high quality and reliable family planning, advocating for enforcement of national laws and enforcement policies, including gender budgeting, advancing women's economic, social and political rights, reducing gender-based violence, integrating comprehensive sexual education, maximizing the use of available resources within the health system, access to quality reproductive health information and services.
We welcome the report of the Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals and support the call for it to serve as the main basis for integrating sustainable development goals into the post-2015 development agenda.
To effectively carry out these activities, we are working to strengthen partnerships for effective participation of civil society, NVO, the private sector and foundations in the implementation of the ICPD / PoA; work on ensuring the timely availability of quality, regularly update and properly classified data, and regularly monitored, evaluation and dissemination of information on program priorities, progress and impact of national policy dialogue, including the private sector, civil society and the community at large.
We strongly believe that women’s and girls’ sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights as well as the elimination of all forms of violence against women and girls and the eradication of harmful practices are central elements of women’s and girls’ human rights and critical to bringing about sustainable development and call for these areas to be integrated across the post-2015 framework. In the area of sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights, particular attention needs to be paid to the rights and needs of young people, including to young people’s access to sexual and reproductive health services and information, including comprehensive sexuality education.
SRH Serbia will continue cooperation with institutions relevant for achievement of ICPD post 2015 Agenda and advocating for SRHR and gender equality.
